Pyrenean Stages July, 8-13



From Thursday, July 9th to Monday, July 13th 
5 days and 4 nights in three-star hotel.

With and Without Bike

This tour is arranged for busy people who do not have the luxury of spending 10 days or 2 weeks with the Tour de France but who do want to fully experience the thrill of some of the most impassioned stages of the Tour.

Included are all the exciting Pyrenees Mountains stages of the Tour de France. Participants with bikes will be able to ride the well-known mountain passes: Col d'Arcadi, Col d'Ordino, Col de Tourmalet, Port d'Envalira.

Arrange your own flight to the Toulouse, France Airport where our reps will meet you. You will bus to Ordino, Andorra for a two-night stay (bed, breakfast, dinner in a three star hotel), then travel by bus to Tarbes, France for another two-night stay bed, breakfast, dinner in a two star hotel). On Day 5 you will return to the Toulouse Airport by bus. Many inexpensive flights are available to the Toulouse Airport. Remember to book early in order to benefit from the best air fare rates.

Thursday , July 9th: day 1
Tour de France stage :
Group : Arrival at Toulouse airport and transfer to Andorra

You will be met at the Toulouse airport at 11:00 a.m. where a bus will be waiting to take you to a three-star hotel: l'Hôtel Prats, on a half board basis (bed, breakfast, dinner) in Ordino, Andorra. This will be home for 2 nights.

The distance from the Toulouse Airport to Ordino is 118 miles.

The Principality of Andorra is an independent state, located in the heart of the Pyrenees Mountains, between France and Spain.

After you have moved into your room a couple of options will be available to you. If you wish, you will have the time to make any adjustments on your bikes and go for an easy ride.
Or if you prefer to so some shopping, a trip to Andorra la Vella will let you benefit from bargain prices on many products since there are few taxes on products sold in Andorra. The bus will be available for the short trip into Andorra la Vella.

Our location in Ordino offers excellent access to the Andorra stages of the Tour. The hotel is located on "la Route du Tour" just 11 miles from the finish line at the summit of Arcali.

Dinner will be served at the hotel restaurant.

Friday , July 10th: day 2
Tour de France stage : Barcelona/Col d'Arcali
Group : Stage arrival at Col d'Arcali

The town of Ordino is an ideal location for capturing all the action of this stage because it is situated on the "ground floor" of the ascension to the finish line at the Col d'Arcadi.
Those among you who are cycling will be able to choose to see the stage on the Col d'Ordino or, if you prefer, watch the final climb up to Arcadi. Riding the stage ahead
of time will allow you the special privilege of experiencing the same "Tour de France" ambiance the pros do. On the way up you will relish the fanfare and encouragement
of the crowd of thousands, companions of the riders on their climb.
If you are on foot you may watch the finish of the stage after a short walk up to Arcadi.



The climb is 6.4 miles long at a grade of 7.1%. The altitude at the summit is 2240 meters. The bus will take you to the bottom of the climb and you will be able to access the finish on foot.

After the finish, you'll be able to unwind a bit while strolling through the town, see where the teams are staying, watch the mechanics in action, and seek out souvenirs
of the stage. Perhaps you'll even take away some autographs.

After the day’s stage, you will return to the hotel where dinner will be served at the hotel restaurant.

Saturday , July 11th: day 3
Tour de France stage : From Andorra la Vella to St Giron
Group : You will see the Tour de France 1st col as well as the finish of the stage
in Saint Girons.

You’ll leave the hotel as a group after breakfast.
You who are riding bikes will be able to climb to the top of the Port d'Envalira. This is
a 1st category mountain pass with an altitude of 2400 meters and an average grade of 5.1%. Hotel to the Top 22 miles.
If you do not have a bike the bus will take you up. Once again the special experience of the Tour will be yours as you are thrust into the exciting roadside ambiance.



As you ride the stage in front of the pros, you will experience the special atmosphere along the route and crowds will be out their thousands to cheer along “ la route du Tour”.

After see the passage of the riders, you will leave to Saint Giron to see the arrival of the second Pyrenean stage.

Aftre that, we travel to Tarbes where you will spend the next 2 nights at a 2 star
hotel.

The distance between St. Giron and Tarbes is 68 miles.

Dinner will be served at the hotel.

Sunday , July 12th: day 4
Tour de France stage : St Giron/St Gaudens
Group : Experience the crowd of fans at the Col du Tourmalet.

The stage of the Pyrenean. A classic but hard stage which includes the mythical climb of the Tourmalet.

After breakfast, you will leave the hotel as a group to get to the day’s route. You will experience the festive ambiance with the supporters at the mythical Col du
Tourmalet.



The Tarbes location is wonderful for accessing this stage. Once again those among you on bikes will have a chance to view the stage on the Col du Tourmalet.
Those who are not riding bikes will be able to walk onto the ascent of the Tourmalet. From this point they will be able to observe the stage after an initial approach by bus.

After seeing the stage you will return to the hotel in Tarbes.

Monday , July 13th: day 5
Tour de France stage : Rest day
Group : Last day

After breakfast, this year’s Pyrenean tour will be over.

The bus will take you back to Toulouse airport.
