Meeting in the morning at Lyon airport

There are several airlines flying into Lyon Saint Exupéry Airport (www.airfrance.fr, www.britishairways.com, www.easyjet.com, www.flybmi.com, www.aerlingus.com)

Remember to book early to get the best airfares.

A bus will take you to the hotel in Montélimar, where you will spend your next 3 nights.

Bus transfer: Lyon-Montélimar 149 km, 92 miles (1 hour and 30min)

If you wish, you will have the time to make any adjustment on your bikes and go for an easy ride.

Sunday, July 19th : day 2

After breakfast, you will have the time to make any final adjustment on your bike and go from your hotel for an easy ride in the morning to see the first miles of the Etapedu Tour.

In the afternoon, you will be free to visit the Etape du Tour village with its bicycle exhibition, where all the major European makes will be present. This is also where you will sign for and collect your race number.

Monday, July 20th : day 3

This will be your once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to live up to the same challenge as the pros (a few days later), by doing a mountain stage of the 2008 Tour de France.
You will be able to see how your total time on that stage compares to that of the top pros.

There will be 8,500 participants, and the roads will be closed to regular traffic. There will be several feeding zones along the course, and technical assistance will be offered by MAVIC.

You will be among the lucky few who will not have to ride a bus to reach the start because your hotel will be on site. Since the start of the Etape du Tour is scheduled for 7:00 am, you’ll be able to sleep a few hours more than most competitors, and this will also spare you most of the problems that go with managing a crowd of 8,500 participants in a small city.

At arrival, there will be a meeting point where you will be able to take a shower, put on fresh clothes. Somes snacks and drinks (fruits, energy bar, and drinks) will be served. After that, a coach will take you back to your hotel. (55 km, 34 miles, 50 minutes)

You’ll leave the hotel by bus at 10:00am to get to the Lyon airport at
11: 00 a.m. where you’ll board your flight back
