tour is designed for those people who don’t have time to spend 1 or 2
weeks following the Tour de France, but want to see some of the most
exciting stages that the race has to offer.
On this tour you will see the Grand depart at Monaco.
The hotel is ideally located since it is in front of the harbour, 300
meters from the start and finish of the Time Trial and right underneath
the casino of Monaco and the superb Hôtel de Paris.

You will be welcomed at Nice Airport (France) at 11:00 a.m.
Once at the airport in Nice, a bus will be waiting to take you to the four-star hotel: the hotel Miramar in Monaco, where you will be spending 3 nights on a B/B basis (bed, breakfast).

You leave the hotel at 5 pm to go the "Presentation of the Teams Ceremony" where
the teams participating in the 2009 Tour de France are introduced.

The hotel being close to the location where the presentation of the teams will take place, you will be able to walk there.
You will have access to VIP place with an official accreditation.
The launch of the 2009 Tour from Monaco will be especially appreciated as starts of the TDF from south are rare. Indeed, the competition has set out from the south of France only four times in thirty years.

You will have today the opportunity to visit Monaco the town which is unquestionably the capital of luxury. The biggest names in the industries of fashion, jewellery, automobiles are present in the Principality. Aston Martins, Rolls Royces, Ferraris are standing everyday in front of the casino. Walk along the Avenue de Monte Carlo and admire the windows of Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Christian Dior, Gucci, Prada … to name only a few.

You will also get the chance to see the hotels where the teams will be staying, see
the mechanics at work, and maybe obtain souvenirs and autographs from the riders.

For the time trials of the 96th Tour de France, the riders will take off at one minute intervals over the very famous Monaco Formula One circuit. The riders will continue through the countryside before the course meets up with the Mediterranean Sea shore for two and a half kilometers, and then once again joins up with the Formula
One circuit. There are 100 meters through the tunnel just before the harbor and the finish line.
You will be provided with a VIP pass that will allow you into the official rider’s enclosure and visit the start area reserved for the teams. That way, you will see the teams’ equipment and fleet, such as buses, motor homes, etc. You will also see how your favorite riders warm up for the first time trial of the 2009 Tour de France. During this time you will be in the heart of the TDF and enjoy the “behind the scenes” that
is reserved to accredited visitors.
The departure area and the finish area will be separated by only few hundred meters. You will access at both areas.

You will have access to the technical zone in the finish area where you will be able to visit the TV and media broadcasting area, as well as the finish line. You will see the famous “caravane”, and the finish of the Tour de France’s first stage. You will stand just in front of the finish line.

The official ceremony to mark the start of the 96th Tour de France will take place on the Monaco Grand Prix circuit. The riders will then proceed along a large portion of the circuit and its legendary sites (la Rascasse, Sainte-Dévote, the Casino) in order to take the exit out of the Principality of Monaco.
You will leave the hotel as a group after breakfast.

You will have special access to today’s stage start and visit the start area reserved for the teams. You will see your favorite teams and riders.
After seeing the start you will leave Monaco.
Our coach will take you back to the Airport in Marseille.
