The 18th edition of L’Etape du Tour Mondovelo will be run on the 18th of July, 2010 from Pau into the summit of the Col du Tourmalet for a total distance of 174 km (108 miles). The Tourmalet is the icon of the Pyrenees and the mountain top finish, situated in the Hautes-Pyrenees, will be the high spot of the 2010 Etape du Tour. Indeed, the Tour de France took cyclists to the Pyrenees for the first time 100 years ago. It will be climbed on its steepest side uphill from Barèges following the ascension of the Marie-Blanque and Soulor passes.
On the 18th of July, the race will start from the city of Pau to climb 3 monuments of the Pyrénées : Col de Marie-Blanque, Col du Soulor and the monster climb Tourmalet. A breathtaking ride!
