3 nights in a 3*, 2* or 1* hotel, on a half-board basis (dinner - wine and water included ; bed and breakfast). Please select your hotel’s category for the 3 nights.

This package is particularly aimed at those driving their own car instead of flying. You will be able to leave your car at the official car park at the finish village in Bagneres-de-Bigorre and take the Etape du Tour’s pickup service to reach the hotel in Pau. Your hotel is located in Pau, the starting place of the 2010 Etape du Tour. Therefore, you will be one of the privileged riders who will be provided with accommodation close to the starting line, which is a great advantage compared to competitors. You will be able to ride to the start on the race’s morning!

 

Etape du tour - Your travel:

You will drive your own car into the hotel in Pau. An early pick-up service for personal vehicles will be organized on the eve of the race, on Saturday 17th of July. You will therefore be able to leave your car near finish line and come back to the host village in Pau.

You will be welcomed at the hotel in Pau where you will spend the next 3 nights on a half-board basis. This hotel is located just beside the start of the Etape du Tour, which will be a great advantage for you on the race’s day.

You will be free to make any final adjustment on your bike and start warming-up for the big day or relax at the hotel.
On the evening, you will have your first dinner with the group and enjoy local wines and traditional dishes.

Etape du tour: Saturday, July 17th - day two

You will start the day with a plentiful French breakfast that will fuel you up for this last preparation day

An early pick-up service for personal vehicles will be organized today by the Amaury Sport Organization. You will therefore be able to leave your car near finish line and come back to the host village in Pau. Parking will be reserved near the finish area in the la Mongie ski station or in Bagnères de Bigorre. You seat in the coach will be reserved and paid in advance by Ronan Pensec Travel, upon registration in a Self-drive package. Coaches will start from the concerned parking between 10.30am and 5pm. It will take 3.00 hours to go there and come back.

We draw your attention to the fact that bikes will not be allowed aboard the coaches. You will be able to let them on the village in Pau. We advise you to leave a change of clothes in your car for the race’s arrival the day after.

After leaving your car near the arrival, you will be able to go for an easy ride to see the first miles of the Etape du Tour and get your legs primed for the ultimate riding.

In the afternoon, you will be free to visit the Etape du Tour village with its bicycle exhibition, where all the major European manufacturers will be present. This is also where you will sign for and pick up your race number.

Afterwards you will relax over a dinner especially prepared to give you all the energy that you will need for the upcoming challenge.

Etape du tour: Sunday, July 18th - Day three

Group: D-day, the Etape du Tour

Today is the day! This is your opportunity to live up to the same challenge as the professionals, by riding a mountain stage of the 2010 Tour de France.
The race’s start time is 7.00am. So after an early breakfast you will be able to ride the short distance into the start and take place amongst the thousands of other competitors from all over the globe who will compete in this cycling's great event...

After the race, you will be able to pick up your car and go back at the hotel.

Back into Pau, we will celebrate your glorious ride over a special dinner at the hotel’s restaurant

Etape du tour: Monday, July 19th - Day Four

You will enjoy this morning's breakfast will a great sense of accomplishment and the willingness to do it again next year. This will be your last opportunity to congratulate your fellow cyclists again over, before you drive back home.

This year’s Tour de France route has been designed to set the Etape du Tour close to the pro race, which enters the Pyreneans at the end of this Etape du Tour program. This is your opportunity to make your Tour de France experience longer and live the inside of the pro race.
We have designed a variety of programs that start on July 19 (end date of the Etape du Tour program) and cover the crucial Pyreneans stages, the final time trial and the arrival on the cobblestones of the Champs-Elysees in Paris.

Our status as an official Tour de France Operator allows us to offer the most exciting week of the Tour de France.

For those who are not competing: On the day of the Etape, our staff will stop at your hotel to pick up you and bring you to the start so you can cheer up on the riders. Then we will meet you again at a given location and will take you by bus to a section of the course from where you will be able to watch the competitors passing by and enjoy a picnic. Afterwards, we will all go to our private arrival zone at the bottom of the Tourmalet where you will be in time to welcome and congratulate your spouse/friend/relative…

In December, we will email you the official application form as well as guidelines on how to fill it out.
Each participant to the Etape du Tour is required to provide a medical certificate from his/her physician stating that he/she is in good physical condition and he/she can take part in a cycling competition. We will need to receive this application form/medical certificate no later than January 31st, 2010.
